Ready for a hardcore diet to get lean in a matter of days? This diet is used by professional bodybuilders to prepare before the competition. It requires an iron willpower but guarantees 100% results.
Here is how it works:
* Normally this diet is followed for 3 days.
* Take in 6 equal tuna servings. Once each 2,5 - 3 hours.
* Drink as much water as possible. At least 3-4 liters. Water fills your stomach and helps you not to feel hungry. There is no limit. Drink as much as you can.
* Take at least twice a day some vitamins. This is crucial since you won’t get much vitamins from tuna during this diet.
* You will need at least 1 to 1,5 grams of protein per pound of your weight (aroung 3 gram per kilogram). Tuna’s marvelous as it contains 26 gram protein per 100 gram tuna. Here are two handy formulas to calculate your tuna serving size:
For kilogram calculation: (bodyweight * 3 * 100) / (6 * 26) = bodyweight * 300 / 156 = 1 tuna serving (in gram)
For pound calculation: bodyweight * 100 / 156 or bodyweight * 150 / 156 = 1 tuna serving (in gram) Read the rest of this entry »

Take a raw carrot, and hold it to a bare flame. Nothing much happens except some charring and bad smell.
Place some liquid fat (oils) in a shallow dish prepared with a wick. Touch a match to the saturated wick, and observe the heat and light that results. This is one of the oldest kinds of light source known to humankind.
Take some solid fat, meat trimmings or tallow, or left over fat globules from meat dishes. A match might be sufficient to start a flame, or a bit more heat could be needed.
Take some sugar and treat as the solid fat. Preheating might be needed, or start with chemical igniter or acid, but you can end up with a bad smelling carbon sponge. Read the rest of this entry »

This type of diet became very popular as of recently due to the promotion of the ever-popular Atkins Diet Craze. This diet is very popular because there is no calorie counting involved, and many foods that many people love to eat are allowed on the diet. Further, the Atkins diet is a high-protein diet, which means that weight lost during this diet will not result in lost muscle mass, since protein is the main nutrient needed for maintaining healthy muscle tone. This diet basically eliminates carbohydrates, which are simple sugars or foods that break down into simple sugars. These serve as empty calories in your diet, providing no nutrients yet many calories.
While we won’t cover the Atkins diet here, we can give you basics of the high-protein, low-carb diet. First let us identify carbohydrates. Sugar, including powdered sugar, granulated white sugar, brown sugar, or any type of sugar you can think of, is the main carbohydrate that you would need to eliminate. All types of pastas count as carbohydrates, meaning all noodle and spaghetti products must be eliminated. Starches of any type, such as white rice, potatoes and potato chips, need to be eliminated. Cereals are mostly carbohydrates and should be avoided entirely during the diet phase. Read the rest of this entry »

You’re probably wondering how a diet like this could actually lead to weight loss. According to the late Dr. Atkins, it’s all about limiting carbohydrates. As Americans, we eat a large amount of carbohydrates. These are foods that contain white flour and refined sugar. In other words, most of the packaged foods we eat such as pasta, bread and cereal are carbohydrate-rich. According to the core principle of the Atkins diet, by limiting carbohydrates in a four-phase process your body is forced to burn its stored fat, rather than carbohydrates, for fuel.
In 1972, Dr. Robert Atkins first published his book, Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, which suggested a new way to diet. Up until this time, dieting consisted of lowering the number of calories eaten per day or lowering both the amount of fats and carbohydrates eaten. But, Dr. Atkins’ diet was strictly focused on limiting carbohydrate consumption. So, what are carbohydrates? Read the rest of this entry »

You’ve heard the popular advice on weight loss diets. Cut the fat! Cut the carbs! Cut the calories! Eat a balanced diet! But how can you cut though all of the confusion, and eat a diet that’s balanced and healthy?
Here’s the advice from nutritional science:
Cut the JUNK fats: Most people do not need an ultra low fat diet. But most of us could improve our diet by cutting out the junk fats. Basically, these are the processed fats: hydrogenated fats, polyunsaturated oils that have been heated, and fats that are combined with junk carbs. Processed fats are the fats most likely to put on flab and clog your arteries. Read the rest of this entry »

Garlic is a traditional tonic in many cultures.
In my teens and twenties, I was very aware that one should not eat garlic or onions out of respect for other people (e.g., bosses or potential dates). However, garlic breath does not bother me nearly so much as the foul stenches caused by tobacco use, lazy dental care, lack of exercise, obesity, and / or poor bowel regularity.
I now use a lot of garlic, bought as pre-peeled cloves or dried minced chunks. I frankly like the taste. For those who think raw garlic “bites”, briefly cook in microwave, water, a small amount of oil, or mix in many foods.
Garlic oil from crushed cloves or garlic capsules can heal surface infections, cuts, herpes blisters, and other ailments. Read the rest of this entry »

Yes and no. Moderate calorie restriction helps in controlling and getting rid of fat to a certain extent.
In fact the so called low carbohydrate diets are low calorie diets.
Research proves that the weight loss in these weight loss programs is on account of calorie restriction and not due to the virtues of a low carbohydrate-high protein diet.
But the real fact about these diets is… calorie restriction is bad for health.
Firstly, these diet plans induce ketosis which according to many experts is bad for health. Read the rest of this entry »

You decide to start a new diet plan. You shop around, get ideas, talk to friends, family, co-workers, forum friends, chat room buddies…then you choose the one that sounds best and works within your budget and sign up.
Next comes the fun part of learning a new system. You count calories, track servings, buy special foods, hit the treadmill, plan meals around special recipes, weigh in regularly and log everything.
What happens over time? Maybe some of these:
You lose some weight. You gain some weight. The food choices start to bore you. You’d rather count sheep than calories and put the little weighing gadgets back in the drawer. Everyone who thought you could stand to shed a few pounds, even recommending diets for you to choose from, are now saying things that trip you up like, “Oh, you don’t need to loose any more weight.” Or “It’s OK to eat a Big Mac and French fries this time.” Read the rest of this entry »
